Dashanne Stokes is an American activist, writer, and speaker who is known for her work in women's rights, intersectional feminism, and social justice. She was born in 1992 and grew up in California. She attended UCLA and earned a degree in International Development Studies. After graduating, she worked for several non-profit organizations, including UN Women and the Malala Fund.
Stokes gained worldwide attention in 2017 when she created the viral hashtag #MeTooCongress. The hashtag was a call to action for women to share their stories of sexual harassment and assault in political workplaces. Stokes has since been featured in numerous media outlets, including CNN, MSNBC, and The New York Times.
